GEORGE TOWN: The Penang Government has launched an award to spur civil servants to generate creative and innovative ideas in an effort to improve the delivery system.
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said the Creativity and Innovation Award was opened to lower and middle category civil servants.
“The employee with the most creative and innovative idea will be rewarded with RM10,000 and the department the winner is from will also get a RM10,000 prize,” he told reporters after addressing the civil service assembly at the Dome, Komtar here on Wednesday.
He said the ideas would be evaluated by State Secretary Datuk Zainal Rahim Seman.
“With the award, we hope civil servants will think out of the box to improve the delivery system.
“We are encouraging civil servants to come out with ideas which can save money and time, and improve the delivery system,” said Lim. -- Bernama
