Pakatan willing to meet BN over Perak: Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the Pakatan Rakyat alliance was willing and ready to meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak to resolve the Perak political crisis.

While stressing that Pakatan’s position on the need to call for fresh state elections was clear, he said that Pakatan was willing to “meet with Barisan Nasional halfway.”

Earlier Thursday, Najib claimed that Barisan did not fear fresh elections in Perak but said any such decision was up to the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah.

He added that fresh state elections was only one of the options open to resolve the Perak political crisis and not “something that has to happen
